2020-08 Release Notes

Iteration: 2020-08

August 3rd, 2020

New Menu Design

After opening OpsAdmin 2020-08 for the first time you will notice a new main menu design. We are testing a new dropdown style instead of the ribbon like design and wanted to get some functionality feedback from the users.

The main reason for going with this change is that with the older menu it was difficult to reach certain options when it was necessary to go from one side of the menu to the other. This is not necessarily the final design and we may even go back to the older design for a couple more releases to make improvements and adjustments. Just let us know what you think!

Features & Fixes Details

It’s possible to make recurring payments optional

This new system wide option allows making recurring payments to be optional for the customers. This means that they will not be forced to subscribe to it to enroll and will be able to enable or disable it from My Account when desired. This option is enabled by default.

If recurring billing is optional, the corresponding authorization checkbox won’t be mandatory, allowing to finish the enrollment process by simply paying the deposit (if needed). The same applies to Quick Enrollments.

In the case the customer decided to pay the deposit later, when doing this action from the My Account site, he won’t be requested to enable autopay before submitting the enrollment.

Also, it will be possible to waive a deposit without having autopay information if the customer didn’t choose that option.

It’s possible to generate ETF invoices automatically

There is a new option under System Setup that allows to automatically generate and send the ETF autoresponders when the drop enters a particular Queue.

The user won’t be able to manually generate the ETF if it was previously generated by the system. If the user decides to waive the ETF after the autoresponder was sent, a new autoresponder will be available to inform the customer that the previous message can be disregarded.

Define a trial period for plans in which ETF is waived if the customer drops

Now it is possible to define a certain period of days in which the ETF will be automatically waived if the customer decides to end the service. This trial period can be configured at plan and affiliate plan level.

This first iteration focuses on showing the status and information of the enrollment but the following versions will allow interaction with the enrollments, such as waiving a deposit, or approving a letter of credit.
